THE NEED OF THE HOUR

SCRIPTURAL READING: JAMES 5:7-12

TEXT: "Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord, Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it. You also be patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand". (James 5:7-8).

COMMENTARY

In today's passage, patience is used to describe long-suffering, brave endurance under adversity, and the reluctance to yield under pressure. The virtue of patience is the ability to refrain from rushing into relationships. The patience we are discussing is not the same as stoicism, apathy, or indifference. Today, a believer is supposed to be patient no matter what happens in the world. Our patience will be richly rewarded, so let's not let it run out. We are supposed to wait for our Savior, who will bring a basket of blessings for His people, much like a farmer waits for the harvest season after sowing.

Those who are patient will outlive all of the problems of this life and will partake in the greater harvest when our master shows here, even though the problems may persist for the time being. Hold on, complete redemption is almost here. Sleep is induced by patience, particularly when it is exercised with hope. To succeed and establish yourself tonight, you will need a lot of patience. The fruit and evidence of faith is patience.

Never cut what you can untie, my love. Continue patiently.

Prayer Points:

1. Lord Jesus, give me the wisdom that goes with patience.

2. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to hold my peace while you fight for me.

3. May the reward of my patience show forth speedily and steadily in Jesus name.
