ALTAR OF PRAYER

SCRIPTURAL READING: LUKE 18:1-8

TEXT: "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up. Left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed''. (Mark 1:35) NIV.

COMMENTARY

When we stop praying, we start to stray from God. Jesus prayed to start His earthly mission, and He taught His disciples to do the same. Having a location of prayer is a prerequisite for starting to pray. The apostles frequently went to a place of prayer. If they wish to advance in their Christian life, sincere converts and disciples of Christ need a space to pray. Who are we to disregard prayer if God incarnate Jesus paid attention to it?

Today, the neglect of the area of prayer is the reason for our failings in our Christian life. We wish to experience daily wins over the powers of evil and all the pitfalls and dangers of this life, yet we have become too busy to pray. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, set an example for us to follow. He was always successful because He prioritized His relationship with God. Let's walk in His footsteps if we are genuinely His followers.

Prayer Points:

1. I repent of every form of prayerlessness.

2. Lord, clothe me with the garment of prayers in Jesus name.

3. Lord, make me to be prayerful and experience daily victories. Amen.
