COMMENTARY
One thing that will always be a part of human life is the reality of need. No one is exempt from challenges, and Jesus Christ never promised us a life free of distress. However, He did promise that in every situation, every struggle, and every moment of need, His presence would always be with us—ready to answer when we call upon His name.
The Psalmist in Psalm 121 likely found himself in a moment of need. But rather than sinking into self-pity, he made a powerful declaration:
"My help comes from the Lord—the Maker of heaven and earth."
He understood something we often forget: true help doesn’t come from friends, family, or worldly sources. He didn’t waste time searching for solutions in places that couldn’t truly save him. Instead, he ran straight to the Father, the One who holds the answers to every challenge he would ever face.
This truth is essential for us as believers. When we face difficulties, where do we turn? Do we rely on mortal men, who are just as powerless as we are? Or do we turn to God, reminding Him of His promises, knowing that our help comes from Him alone?
Even when the world trusts in its own strength, choose to place your faith in God. In Him, you will find the help your soul truly needs.
Before you sleep tonight, take a moment to recognize your true Helper. Surrender your weekend—and your life—into His hands, and watch as He guides your steps into His best for you.
