GRATITUDE
Bible Reading: Luke 17:11-19
Text: "And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan." (vS. 15,16 NKJV)
COMMENTARY
The little and seemingly insignificant things in life are often the most important in essence. A kind smile, a simple gesture, a helping hand, a cup of water, a warm handshake—these small acts make life truly beautiful.
When Jesus instructed the ten lepers to present themselves to the priest, He already knew that they would receive their healing along the way. However, only one of them returned to give thanks—and he was an outcast, a Samaritan. This act of gratitude touched Jesus, but He was also disappointed that the others failed to return and acknowledge their miracle.
A simple "thank you" at the moment of a kind gesture is far more valuable than a lengthy note of appreciation given days later. Gratitude matters. We should learn to appreciate even the smallest blessings in our lives:
When you wake up in the morning, say "Thank You, Lord."
If you missed a flight, thank God—He may have saved you from danger.
When you return home safely from work, thank God.
If you had food on your table, thank God.
When you drive from your house to your office without incident, thank God.
Gratitude unlocks greater blessings and paves the way for divine favor.
When was the last time you said "thank you" to:
The man who held the door open for you?
The security guard who greeted you with a smile?
The cleaner who tidied up your workspace?
A simple word of appreciation can make someone’s day brighter and enrich your own life as well. Gratitude is a great virtue for a fruitful life.
Before you go to bed tonight, challenge yourself:
Send a message or call at least five people just to say, "Thank you."
May gratitude bring you into greater blessings.
Goodnight!
