GOD'S REQUIREMENT

Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 10:11-19

Text: "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all yoursoul..." (Vs.12 NKJV)

COMMENTARY

God Calls Us to Action!

What God desires from us requires action—not just belief, but a life lived in obedience to His Word. The Bible is filled with clear instructions on what the Lord expects from us. However, if we don’t have a personal relationship with Him, we can’t fully grasp what He truly wants.

Moses understood this deeply. He didn’t just know about God—he walked with Him. In fact, he was called "Moses, the Man of God." He had the incredible privilege of encountering God face to face, and through that relationship, God revealed His expectations for His people:

1️⃣ God wants us to fear and revere Him.

2️⃣ God wants us to walk in His ways.

3️⃣ God wants us to love Him.

4️⃣ God wants us to serve Him.

5️⃣ God wants us to obey His commands.

These principles haven’t changed—they apply to every generation of believers. But here’s the truth: our devotion to God isn’t for His benefit—it’s for ours. When we commit ourselves to Him, we learn to hear His voice and experience His presence in our daily lives. It is in that communion with God that we begin to truly understand who He is—and who we are.

Deuteronomy 10 lays out a clear mission statement for every child of God, and the life of Jesus Christ is our perfect example. If we align our lives with God's desires and expectations, we position ourselves for a life of fruitfulness, purpose, and true fulfillment.
