EVERYTHING IS FOR YOUR GOOD
Bible Reading: James 1:12-20
Text: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28 NKJV)
COMMENTARY
There was a young man who suffered a domestic gas explosion that badly bruised his face and left him hospitalized. When visited in the hospital, the pain and burns were evident, but what was most striking was his attitude.
In moments like these, most people express pity, pain, or even anger, but this young man was different. He had no regrets, no bitterness, and no complaints. Instead, he kept thanking God.
He wouldn’t allow anyone who came to visit him to speak words of sorrow. All he wanted to talk about was God’s goodness. He firmly believed that whatever happened was for his good—that God had a purpose even in this painful experience.
When I remember his joy and unwavering faith, I think of the heart of Apostle Paul when he wrote:
"All things work together for good to those who love God." – Romans 8:28
Even in adversity, trials, and suffering, the Bible teaches us to love and trust God. Instead of bitterness, regret, or frustration, let’s choose to praise Him, trust Him, and encourage others to do the same.
No matter what you are facing, if you could catch even a glimpse of God’s plan for your life, you would see that everything is working together for your good.
