DON'T IGNORE GOD
Bible Reading: Luke 12:13-21
Text: "Why do the wicked renounce God? He has said in his heart, "You will not require an account."' (Psalm 10:13 NKJV)
COMMENTARY
Too often, people live their lives, make decisions, and take actions without considering how God feels or what He desires. In the busyness of our daily routines, we might speak words, entertain thoughts, and make plans without seeking His will.
We may not openly declare our independence from God like the rich fool in Jesus' parable, but if we are not careful, we might be acting in ways that disregard Him.
Even in prayer, we sometimes approach God ritually—our hearts closed, already determined to follow our own path. We might even sense His gentle warnings, that still small voice nudging us away from a wrong choice, yet we ignore it.
Tonight is a moment to pause, reflect, and realign ourselves with God.
Jesus reminds us in Luke 12:21 that we cannot secure our future apart from God’s guidance. He alone holds tomorrow and controls what lies ahead.
Before you sleep tonight, take a moment to evaluate your heart. Ask yourself:
Have I ignored God’s voice today?
Have I made plans without seeking His direction?
Have I trusted in my own strength instead of His wisdom?
If so, now is the time to make amends. Surrender your plans to Him and let Him lead your steps.
Goodnight. Sleep with a heart surrendered to His will.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Dear Lord, I confess my ways, my actions to you. Forgive me in any way I have ignored you in my endeavour.
2. O! God, I submit my life, my will, my plans to you, take over and grant me peace, in Jesus name.
3. Heavenly Father, whatever steps I have taken that does not glorify you, please restore me to my divinely destined path in Jesus name.
Sleeping Capsule:
Dedicating our lives & future to God is the only way we can also take control of our lives.
