DARKNESS DOES NOT LIMIT GOD

Bible Reading: Genesis 1:1-11

Text: "The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1: 2 NK/V)

COMMENTARY

It is well known that nothing thrives or progresses in darkness. The term darkness represents the absence of light (Isaiah 45:7, Job 34:22) and is often associated with sorrow and distress (Isaiah 8:22; 13:10).

When darkness enters your life, it can manifest as emptiness, stagnation, distress, or desolation. It can make you feel as if life has struck you down, leaving you hopeless and uncertain about the future. This is the feeling one gets when reaching a point where nothing seems to be working anymore.

But here is the good news:

The Bible assures us that in the beginning, even when the earth was formless and void, "the Spirit of God was moving upon the face of the waters" (Genesis 1:2).

This means that even in your darkest moments, God is present.

He is not limited by darkness—His light shines through it, and the darkness cannot overpower it.

So relax tonight and take heart.

No matter what has robbed you of sleep,

No matter what has overwhelmed you with fear,

No matter what has stolen your joy,

God is not done with you yet.

He is still working behind the scenes, turning your darkness into light, your pain into purpose, and your setback into a setup for something marvelous.

Hold on—your breakthrough is coming
