Let Go of Control.
Sub-Topic: Surrendering to God's Will
Biblical text: Proverbs 3:5
Commentary:
Proverbs 3:5 goes beyond just recognizing God. It requires a profound and steadfast faith - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart." This is letting go of the need to control everything and submitting to God's will, even when we don't understand it.
Letting go of control is tough, particularly when faced with uncertainty. However, this scripture promises that if we "submit to him," God would "make our paths straight." This does not imply He will completely eradicate the storm, but He will bring us through it and into a better future.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me let go of my desire for control and believe in Your perfect plan for my life.
Work Action: Find a quiet place and spend some time meditating on what losing control means for you in your present circumstances. Make a list of ways you can practice letting go and trusting God more.
Scriptural Reference: Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
