Holding on to Hope
Sub-Topic: The Power of Hope.
Biblical Text: Psalm 37:7
Commentary:
Psalm 37:7 is fundamental to this theme’s focus. The psalmist encourages us to remain quiet before the Lord and wait patiently. This does not mean apathy, but rather a trusting resignation to God's time and purpose. The text also advises against worrying when others seem to be blessed while our prayers go unanswered.
Hope is crucial in times of unanswered prayer. It is the anchor that keeps us anchored in faith, believing that God is working behind the scenes, even when we cannot see it. Hope enables us to persist in the face of adversity and hold on to God's promises of kindness.
Prayer: Lord, refresh my trust in Your faithfulness and divine timing. Help me trust that You are working for my benefit.
Work Action: Locate a quiet space to reflect. Spend time reflecting about your ambitions and dreams. Write a surrender prayer in which you express your confidence in God's timetable.
Scriptural Reference: Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."
