Discovering God's Will.

Sub-Topic: Identifying God's Plan.

Biblical Text: Romans 12:2.

Commentary:

Romans 12:2 moves from acknowledging the need for change and experiencing regeneration to a more profound grasp of God's will. The text promises that via the "renewing of your mind," we will be able to "test and approve what God's will is."

God does not compel us to do His will. He wishes for a relationship based on trust and obedience. Renewal enables us to discern His will via a variety of approaches, including studying scripture, seeking good advice, and listening to interior promptings from the Holy Spirit.

Understanding and aligning with God's will results in a life of purpose, contentment, and pleasure. It does not imply a lack of problems, but it does assure that we are on the route He has set for us.

Prayer: Oh Lord, please open my intellect and heart to grasp Your plan for my life. Guide me to make choices that are consistent with Your perfect plan.

Work Action: Jot down a choice you're facing. Spend some time in prayer and scripture study, seeking God's wisdom on this issue.

Scriptural Reference: Proverbs 3:5–6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
