A Man of Integrity

Biblical text: Job 1:1

Commentary:

The Book of Job begins by presenting the main character, Job. He is regarded as a guy of outstanding integrity, who is spotless, upright, fears God, and avoids evil. He is also endowed with money and a huge family. This lovely image sets the tone for the catastrophic events to follow.

 Job’s success does not inevitably imply a life devoid of suffering. The verse emphasizes that exterior appearances may be deceptive. Even the most moral persons may suffer difficulties and setbacks.

Prayer: Dear Lord, enable me to live a life of integrity, believing in You even when things are challenging.

Work Action: Consider one aspect of your life in which you strive for integrity. Write down one method you may enhance your resolve to live righteously today.

Scriptural Reference: Proverbs 11:3. "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroyer destroys them."

GIVE GENEROUSLY

Bible Reading : 11 Corinthians 9:6-12 Text : 2 Corinthians 9:6 "But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully".(NKJV) COMMENTARY Simply put, sparingly implies giving very little compared to what you already have. Giving must be done sacrificially to produce results. That is a generous donation. Giving that doesn't affect you isn't a plentiful seed; a bountiful seed hurts the giver but moves God.
