From Doubt to Belief

Sub-Topic: The Encounter with the Risen Christ

Biblical Text: John 20:26-28 (Read the text)

Commentary:

Eight days later, the disciples convened with Thomas present, his feelings likely a combination of doubt and optimism inspired by others' experiences. Suddenly, Jesus emerges despite sealed doors, delivering Thomas the evidence he sought by letting him to touch his wounds. This critical moment links doubt to faith. As Thomas says, "My Lord and my God!", it symbolizes a total commitment to Jesus. His narrative underlines the power of personal encounter with the supernatural, prompting us to seek such experiences and embrace the mystery of religion beyond logic.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your patience and understanding. Help us overcome our uncertainties and open our hearts to accept your love and grace.

Work Activity: Write out a personal profession of faith, comparable to Thomas' "My Lord and my God!"

Scriptural Reference: Romans 10:17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of God ."
